Bookends for Office Desk
Most desk bookends are either too decorative for a professional setting or too industrial to feel considered. The result is a shelf that looks like an afterthought. Atelier Article makes bookends from laser-cut steel — hand-finished, powder-coated or left in raw patina — built to hold a row of books without flexing, sliding, or drawing the wrong kind of attention. Each piece is made in our workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine, with enough visual weight to anchor a desk and enough restraint to stay out of the way. Browse the collection below.

Frequently asked questions
What sizes are available, and will they fit my desk?
Our office bookends are designed for standard desk and shelf use. Most pairs span a base footprint of around 10–12 cm per end, which keeps them stable without consuming desk space. You can see the full range of sizes and profiles in our bookends collection — each listing includes exact dimensions.
Will the finish hold up on a daily-use desk?
Powder-coated finishes are durable and resistant to minor abrasion — normal desk handling won’t wear them down. Patina-finished pieces develop slight character over time, which most people find adds to the look rather than detracting from it. Neither finish requires maintenance under ordinary indoor conditions.
How heavy are the bookends, and will they actually hold books upright?
Steel construction means these have genuine holding mass. They won’t skate across the shelf when you pull a book. The base geometry is designed for friction and stability, not just appearance. For a typical row of 10–15 hardcovers, they hold without issue.
Are these made to order, or do you ship from stock?
Most designs are made in small batches in our Cherkasy workshop. Production and dispatch typically takes 2–3 business days, with delivery in 10–12 days depending on your location.
