Bookends for Kids Room
A child's bookshelf does a lot of work — it holds the stories they return to, the worlds they escape into, and a little of their personality. The right bookends make that shelf feel like theirs. Atelier Article makes animal and character bookends from laser-cut steel, hand-finished in our Cherkasy workshop: a stretching cat, a sitting bear, a fox mid-trot, a hare, a French bulldog, a cycling figure, an Alice in Wonderland silhouette. Each piece is powder-coated or given a patina finish, so it's built to last from the picture-book years through the young-adult shelf era.
These aren't plastic novelties. They're steel pieces with real weight — functional enough to actually hold books, characterful enough to earn a second look.

Frequently asked questions
What animal and character designs do you make?
Our full bookends collection includes a sitting cat, running cat, bear, fox, hare, French bulldog, a bike rider, and an Alice in Wonderland silhouette. All are laser-cut steel, so the shapes are crisp and the details hold up.
Are these safe for a child's room — no sharp edges?
Yes. After laser cutting, every piece is hand-ground and finished before powder coating. The edges are smooth. The base keeps them upright and stable.
What finish options are available, and do the colours stay?
Most designs come in matte black powder coat, with some available in colour or patina finishes. Powder coat is cured at high temperature — it doesn't chip, scratch, or fade the way paint does.
How heavy are they, and will they actually hold books upright?
Each bookend weighs between 400g and 800g depending on the design — enough to hold a standard row of children's hardbacks or paperbacks without sliding.
