Animal Bookends for Shelf
These are animal bookends for people who actually like animals — not as a theme, but as a subject worth rendering well. Atelier Article makes steel silhouettes of a sitting cat, running cat, fox, wolf, bear, hare, and French bulldog, each laser-cut to a clean profile and hand-finished in our Cherkasy workshop.
The forms are recognisable without being cartoonish. Powder-coat or patina finish, solid steel weight. They hold books and look good doing it.

Frequently asked questions
Which animal designs do you currently make?
We make sitting cat, running cat, fox, wolf, bear, hare, and French bulldog — all laser-cut steel silhouettes. The full range is in our bookends collection.
How detailed are the silhouettes?
Simplified but specific. Laser cutting produces a precise outline, so each animal reads clearly as its species — the fox has its characteristic narrow snout and large ears, the bear has its broad shoulders.
Do these work on a shelf with books, or are they more of a standalone object?
Both. The steel base gives enough weight (400–800g per bookend) to hold a row of books without sliding. The silhouette extends above the book line so it stays visible.
Can I order a specific animal that's not in the current range?
Occasionally, yes — custom silhouette work is discussed case by case. Contact us through the site with what you have in mind.
