Are metal bookmarks safe for book pages?
Yes. Every bookmark in this collection is hand-cut from 0.6 mm carbon steel with finished, rounded edges — thin enough to sit flat between pages without creasing them, rigid enough to stay flat over time. Unlike foil or chain bookmarks, there are no loose strands or sharp corners to catch or tear paper.
What size are Atelier Article's metal bookmarks?
Most of our bookmarks are 14–18 cm (5.5–7 in) long and 2–3 cm wide, designed to fit paperbacks, hardcovers, and standard trade editions. Each product page lists exact dimensions. They're sized to mark your place clearly from outside the book without extending awkwardly past the top edge.
Will a metal bookmark fall out of the book?
No. Every design uses a hook, clip, or folded edge that anchors over the top of the page — so the bookmark stays put when the book is closed, carried, or packed. A flat metal bookmark without an anchor can slide out; ours don't. That's the practical point of the shape.
What are the bookmarks made of?
Hand-cut 0.6 mm carbon steel, finished and powder-coated in our workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine. The same six-person team has made them since 2011. Steel holds its shape indefinitely, doesn't bend with use, and takes a clean matte finish. No plating, no hollow parts, no glue — one piece of metal, cut and shaped.
Are these a good gift for readers?
They're one of the most-gifted items in the shop. Each design is different, they pack flat in a card or envelope, and they survive being knocked around in a bag better than paper, leather, or ribbon bookmarks. Where do you ship from and how long does it take?
We ship from our workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine. Typical transit is 10–14 business days to the EU, US, and Canada once the item leaves the workshop. Bookmarks are small and ship quickly. If your order is a gift with a specific date, message us and we'll confirm timing before you buy.
