Book Holders & Stands
Book holders that keep books upright and on show, made in steel, solid wood and plaster. This edit brings together the two ways Atelier Article holds books: open stands with a solid wooden ball, and weighty bookends that keep a row standing on a shelf, desk or console.
The Ball Book Holder is a 45 cm (17.7 in) steel shelf with a 15 cm (5.9 in) solid wooden ball at one end; the Duo Ball Stand sits between two wooden balls. Every piece is made by hand in our workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine. These are shelf and display holders: we do not make hands-free reading stands or cookbook stands that hold a book open.

What is the difference between a book holder stand and bookends?
A book holder stand is one piece with its own base: set it on a console or shelf and stand a short run of books on it. Bookends are a pair you place at each end of a row on a shelf you already have, so they suit longer rows and fit any shelf length.
How many books fit on the ball book holder?
It depends on the books. The steel shelf is 45 cm (17.7 in) long, so measure the combined thickness of the books you want to display against that length. It holds vinyl records too, or a mix of both.
Do you make stands that hold a book open for reading or cooking?
