How precise is the laser cutting — do fine details like feathers hold up?
Very precise. Laser cutting on 0.6mm steel can hold detail down to around 0.5mm — which is why the feather lines on the owl and the texture on the turtle shell are visible rather than approximated.
Will the finish scratch or wear off with regular use?
Powder coat on a small bookmark used daily will show minor surface wear over years — that's characteristic of any coated metal. Neither finish requires maintenance.
Are these suitable as gifts for children?
The bookmarks have finished edges — no burrs or sharp points. They're not toys and aren't rated for very young children, but they work well as gifts for older children and teenagers who read.
