Atelier Article hand-casts these sculptural bookends in gypsum-based plaster in our Cherkasy, Ukraine workshop. The collection includes classical bust bookends, architectural forms, anatomical sculpture and symbolic hands. Each piece is demoulded and finished by hand, so small surface variations are part of its handmade character.
What are sculptural bookends?
Sculptural bookends combine a three-dimensional decorative object with practical support for books. Unlike slim metal silhouettes, these solid plaster forms have more visual volume on a shelf, desk or console. This collection is limited to Atelier Article’s plaster designs; the wider bookends collection also includes metal, animal, literary and kitchen-themed models.
Which sculptural bookends suit your shelf?
For a classical library or philosophy-themed workspace, compare the Homer bust, Aristotle bust and coordinated Homer and Aristotle pair. The individual busts are sold as single bookends, while the paired set is intended for both ends of a row.
For an architectural interior, compare the minimalist architectural bookends with the neoclassical pillar pair. For a more unusual focal object, consider the Buddha Hands or Anatomy Ear designs. Check the product page for exact dimensions, quantity, finish choices and current availability before ordering.
Plaster, finish and care
These bookends are made from real, gypsum-based plaster rather than resin or plastic. Depending on the design, the standard surface may be natural plaster or a hand-applied painted finish. Keep plaster indoors and away from moisture and exposed shelf edges. Remove dust with a dry, soft cloth rather than washing the surface with water.
Custom colours use existing forms
Atelier Article accepts custom finish requests. We can paint an existing sculptural bookend in another colour or adapt its surface finish when technically feasible. We do not currently create a new sculpture, portrait or mould to order. Send the workshop a RAL code, hex value or reference photo before purchasing; feasibility, price and lead time are confirmed before the order is placed.
