Atelier Article’s plaster busts and sculptures bring classical figures, animals and sculptural bookends into contemporary rooms. Choose a single figure for a desk, mantel or console, or a functional bookend for the shelf; the subject and scale should feel at ease in its setting.
Each piece is hand-cast from gypsum-based plaster and finished in the workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine. Small surface variations are part of the handmade finish. Compare placement, function and colour before choosing. Exact dimensions, finish, quantity and care details appear on each product page. Custom colours for existing forms may be requested when technically feasible.
Frequently asked questions
Are these busts made from plaster or resin?
They are hand-cast in real, gypsum-based plaster — not resin or plastic. Each piece is demoulded and finished by hand in the Atelier Article workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine. Natural plaster and hand-applied finishes can show small surface variations, so no two pieces are completely identical.
Which plaster bust should I choose?
For a classical desk, mantel or console, compare the Marcus Aurelius, David and Julius Caesar busts. For a working bookshelf, choose the Homer and Aristotle bookend pair. For a less formal interior, consider the Fox or Dog sculpture. Check each product page for exact dimensions and finish options.
Can I order a plaster bust in a custom colour?
Yes. Atelier Article can paint an existing sculpture in another colour or adapt its surface finish when technically feasible. We do not currently create a new sculptural form, portrait or mould to order. Contact the workshop before ordering with a RAL code, hex value or reference photo; feasibility, price and lead time are confirmed before purchase.
How should I care for a plaster sculpture?
Keep plaster sculptures indoors, away from moisture, edges and places where they may be knocked over. Remove dust with a dry, soft cloth and do not wash the surface with water. More practical maintenance guidance is available in the Atelier Article care guide.
How are plaster busts packed and shipped?
Each bust is packed individually with protective foam in double-wall cardboard and sent by tracked courier from Cherkasy, Ukraine. Standard pieces usually ship in 2–3 business days, with worldwide delivery typically taking 10–12 days. Delivery timing can vary by destination and customs processing.
