Small Log Holder with Handle – Scandi-Style Firewood Carrier

The handle is the point: fill it at the wood pile, carry it in, set it down next to the stove. Owners use it as a firewood carrier and as the everyday holder by the hearth — several bought a second one, and one designer has bought six for clients. Hand-welded in the Atelier Article workshop in Cherkasy, Ukraine; clear coat over raw steel or matte black.

What it holds

“Enough wood for 1–2 nights of burning”, “10 Duraflame logs”, an armful of split hardwood. It is deliberately small — “it takes up no more space than the stove”, and one owner asks you to take out the measuring tape first: it is smaller than it looks in the photos and exactly the size in the listing.

The frame is 7.9 in (20 cm) deep and 9.5 in wide. Standard 16-inch logs rest across the width and show on both sides; shorter precut logs sit inside the frame “without slipping out the sides”, in an owner's words.

The frame is 10 × 10 mm (⅜ in) square steel tube, hand-welded. It is slimmer than most hearth furniture and lighter than it looks — reviewers say “lighter than expected” and “sturdy” in the same sentence — so it moves easily for cleaning and does not overpower a small room.

Feet and floors

Four legs with plastic pads, so the steel does not sit directly on wood or tile. On an uneven stone hearth, a felt pad under one leg levels it.

Indoor or outdoor?

Made for indoor use next to a fireplace or wood stove. Several owners keep one on a covered porch or patio; if you do, spray the frame with a wax protectant once a season so the powder coat lasts.

Hook and poker

Add a hook for the poker, a steel poker, or both; the hook fixes to the frame so the tool hangs beside the wood.
